7 Ways to Get a Really Good Twist Out Definiton

(Last Updated On: December 9, 2017)

I have to be honest that it took me many years of failed attempts with this simple hairstyle we call twist out before I was finally able to get it right.
So here are some tips which have been working for me lately

This isn’t me

1. Start with freshly washed and detangled hair, though old stretched out hair will also do
2. Work with smaller sections
3. Do rope twists instead of regular twists
4. Twist closely or tight so that the twists look more stretchy and bouncy when pulled
5. Leave the twists in for at least 24 hours for the best definition
6. Allow the hair to completely dry before unravelling
7. Do not fluff, just untwist and leave the hair alone. I find that my hair turns into a “frizz out” when I try to separate the hair to create a fuller twist out. Unfortunately, this method just hasn’t worked for me yet

How do you get a really good twist out?
