1. Regulates sebum production

Since the scalp is the root of the hair, the length at which you hair can grow will be affected by the health of your scalp. One of the functions of the scalp is to produce sebum (natural oil) which helps to moisturize the hair to keep it healthy. When the scalp doesn’t produce enough sebum, it can lead to dull and dry hair, resulting in split ends and premature hair fall.

On the other hand, when there’s an overproduction of sebum, it can lead to a flaky scalp and greasy hair. To help to control sebum production, especially in the events that your scalp doesn’t produce enough, you can massage a few drops of jojoba oil on your scalp on a regular basis to help keep the scalp moisturized.

2. Keeps the scalp clean and healthy

When the scalp produces too much sebum, the excess sebum can harden and turn into wax overtime which can clog the follicles and hinder hair growth. To avoid this, just apply small amounts of jojoba oil on your scalp to loosen and remove hardened oil/wax from the scalp. This will help to keep the scalp clean and healthy so that it can grow healthier-looking hair.

3. Fights scalp infection

The antioxidant properties in jojoba oil help to fight bacteria and other fungal infections on the scalp that might inhibit hair growth and cause hair damage. A clean and healthy scalp is not only hygienic and comfortable, it also helps to ensure that your hair remains in its optimal state.

4. Treats dry hair

Jojoba oil is not only good for the scalp, but it is also good for the hair as well. The vitamins in jojoba oil are hair nourishing properties which help to condition the hair, restore luster and shine, while sealing in moisture into the hair. Jojoba oil can also be applied on the tips of the hair to help minimize split ends and breakage.

5. Promotes Hair Growth

When the hair and scalp are kept in a healthy state, the obvious result will be increased hair growth and maximum length retention. It is also used topically to encourage the regrowth of hair in people who are balding.

Because jojoba oil has properties which is similar to the sebum on your scalp, it works just like the natural oils on your scalp to help to make sure that your hair grows to its full potential and that it stays healthy after it has grown out of your scalp.
