If your daughter’s scalp gets dry and flaky easily, it’s often because her scalp doesn’t produce enough natural sebum it needs to stay hydrated. This is why in this post, I will be recommending the best hair and scalp oils to apply on her scalp to keep it moisturized, prevent itchiness and promote hair growth.
You can also apply these products to her hair to seal in moisture, increase lubrication and reduce frizz and knots.
How can I increase my child’s hair growth?
To be honest with you, there is very little that you can do to speed up the growth of your child’s hair. Hair growth is a natural process that is heavily influenced by genetics.
There are however somethings that you can do to prevent breakage and avoid damage to help your child’s hair retain its length as well as promote growth.
- Regularly moisturize their hair
- Regularly massage their scalp to promote hair growth
- Use natural oils like coconut oil, almond and olive oil
- Condition their hair often
- Feed them a healthy diet
- Detangle their hair
- Keep your child’s protected at night with a satin bonnet
- Avoid using heat
How do I get rid of the dry itchy scalp on my child?
You first need to identify the cause of the itchiness. Is she developing a fungal infection, is her hair too dry, is she reacting to some product or is there an underlying condition? The cause will guide you in finding the right solution.
If there is no serious cause like a medical condition, increasing the frequency of shampooing their hair as well as using a medicated shampoo should help.
How do I get rid of dandruff on kid’s hair?
Contrary to what most parents think, dandruff is not necessarily caused by poor hygiene and it’s a pretty common condition among kids. It’s also not contagious and is easily treatable. Switch to using an antidandruff shampoo on their hair, it should clear but if it persists, seek a doctor’s opinion. He will most certainly recommend you use a medicated cream and shampoo on their hair.
Which oils promote hair growth?
All virgin oils promote hair growth, particularly, coconut oil, almond oil, olive oil, jojoba oil, and argan oil. Essential oils too like lavender, rosemary, tea tree, and Ylang Ylang promote the growth and volume of hair.
The good thing with oils is that they hardly cause any allergy so you can play around with them and see what your child’s hair thrives on.
What is the role of oils in children’s hair regimen?
One of the key products in your child’s hair care regimen is oiling. Oiling your child’s hair regularly comes with a lot of benefits. It promotes blood circulation in the scalp to keep your child’s scalp healthy. Because oils are rich in proteins, antioxidant properties, and vitamins, they promote the growth of hair.
Also, oil being a lubricant helps reduce frizz and tangles in children’s hair. It retains moisture as well as nourishes hair.
Which oil regrows hair fast?
Ideally, all-natural oils help to speed up hair growth. It’s the reason they have been used for ages. The oil I have had immense hair growth with myself is coconut oil. It contains vitamin E, a rich antioxidant that promotes hair growth by increasing blood circulation to the scalp and preventing hair loss. Be sure to use the extra virgin coconut oil for maximum benefits.
Why is my child’s hair not growing?
Do you have a regimen for their hair care? Are you attentive to their hair needs? How you care for your hair should be more or less the same way you care for their hair. The only difference is that you will use baby-friendly products.
Create a hair regimen that involves, shampooing, detangling, conditioning, moisturizing, and nighttime care.
On top of that, trim their hair every once in a while, put their hair in protective styles, avoid heat styling, and practice PATIENCE. Yeah, you need loads of patience. Trust me on this.
If you have done everything right as far as their hair care, check whether they have any sort of deficiency. Nutrition plays a big role in hair growth.
Also check whether they have a fungal infection, Alopecia, or any other medical condition that can interfere with their hair growth.
Is it good to apply oil to the baby’s scalp?
A baby’s scalp should be oiled to increase blood circulation. Just be sure to use natural plant-based oils like olive oil, almond oil, coconut oil, and olive oil. Keep off essential oils unless approved by your pediatrician. The best way to oil their scalp is to gently massage their scalp.
Which oil is best for the scalp?
There are a variety of great oils for a baby’s scalp, most of which we have reviewed down below. But just to mention a few, coconut oil, olive oil, and sesame oil are great for warmer months while mustard oil is the best for the winter season. All these oils are great for strengthening a baby’s hair, removing cradle caps, and keeping your baby’s scalp moisturized and protected.
Why do you need to oil your child’s hair?
You need to oil your child’s hair frequently for two reasons.
1) to keep their hair and scalp moisturized and
2) to improve blood circulation to their scalp to grow their hair. How often to oil will depend on their hair texture, their activity level, and of course the climatic condition of where you stay.
